Violet PR Wins Two Bulldog Awards for National PR Excellence for Second Year in a Row

MONTCLAIR, N.J., June 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, New Jersey-based public relations firm, Violet PR, announced the company received two medals in the prestigious 2020 Bulldog PR Awards. Violet PR's diversity and inclusion campaign for Pittsburgh International Airport's "sensory room" unveil earned the top spot in the "Best Issue/Cause Advocacy" category, and its campaign promoting a series of initiatives at Pittsburgh International Airport won a Silver in the "Best Media Relations Campaign" category.

The Bulldog PR Awards, which rank the most outstanding PR and communications campaigns, are the only national public relations contest judged exclusively by working journalists. The judges evaluate the entries based on creativity, originality, strategy, execution and results.

"We are honored to have our PR campaigns recognized by Bulldog for a second year in a row," said April Mason, president and owner of Violet PR. "Our clients at Pittsburgh International Airport were beyond impressed with our results, which included an NBC 'Today Show' feature, among dozens of top-tier media placements."

Violet PR's winning media relations campaigns shined a light on Pittsburgh International Airport, which serves nearly 10 million passengers annually and remains committed to serving the community and travelers worldwide, including those with disabilities.

Violet PR won the top prize for the launch of a dedicated, 1,500-square-foot "sensory room" for travelers with autism spectrum disorders. Jason Rudge, a heavy equipment operator at the airport, came up with the idea and the space was subsequently named "Presley's Place," for his son who has autism. Pittsburgh's sensory room is designed to help travelers with autism get familiar with the flying experience and remain calm between flights.

To promote the opening, Violet PR secured coverage in national outlets including "The TODAY Show," MSN, Condé Nast Traveler, USA Today, People, NPR, the Washington Post, the New York Post, the New York Daily News and dozens more. Over 45 favorable news stories appeared, resulting in 1.93 million impressions.

During the wider, year-long media relations campaign for Pittsburgh International Airport, Violet PR secured over 130 news placements, including features in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Conde Nast Traveler, Fast Company, U.S. News & World Report, and more. News coverage reached 5.74 billion people and generated 88,600 social media shares.

The Bulldog PR Awards received a record-breaking number of entries this year. To learn more about the 2020 Bulldog Stars of PR Awards, click here.
