ARGENTINA: World Bank Pledges US$ 2 Billion To Help The Country
(RTTNews) - World Bank President Jim Yong Kim highlighted his support for the economic reforms undertaken by the Argentinean President Mauricio Macri and pledged to open a US$ 2 billion line in 2018 to promote the reforms the South American country needs to accomplish.
In the first visit by a president of the World Bank to the country in 25 years, Kim noted that Argentina "offers a very promising outlook" and supported the official gradualism.
"We believe that the President is not in a hurry because he is worried about defending the poorest sectors," Kim said.
He projected that the country's economy would grow 2.7 percent this year and indicated that "investors are looking for calm and stability and the Macri's reforms go that way."
