21st iRelaunch Return-to-Work Conference returns to Columbia University on October 3

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The iRelaunch Return-to-Work Conference, founded in 2008, is preparing to host over 600 people at Columbia University on October 3rd, bringing together individual "relaunchers" - professionals on a career break and looking to return to work – with over 40 employers, speakers, and career reentry experts for a day of learning and networking.

The event encourages employers and professionals to engage in substantive, high-quality conversations. "We have created a unique opportunity for relaunchers and employers to have meaningful discussions about returning to work," says Carol Fishman Cohen, iRelaunch CEO. "We want participants to be empowered and prepared for their journey back to work."

As the lead sponsor for the fourth year in a row, Morgan Stanley has benefited from tapping into the relauncher workforce through the event. "The iRelaunch Conference provides us with a very competitive pool of candidates. …[E]ach time that we return, we find highly motivated, highly educated individuals who are looking for employment and that's exactly what an employer like Morgan Stanley is looking for, so we value the Conference as a source of very talented individuals," says Susan Reid, Morgan Stanley's Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion.

Additional sponsors include Barclays, Bloomberg, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Fidelity Investments, Goldman Sachs, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Macquarie, Moody's, OnRamp Fellowship, Bank of America, LinkedIn, MM La Fleur, Society of Women Engineers, Higher Education Recruitment Consortium, and American Association of University Women.

"The most valuable [part of the Conference] was…[HR] representatives from companies…not my friends or family, but actual employers who believed in me… It was very motivational to have my experiences validated by someone with the power to hire me," said a past attendee.

The Conference has been held 20 times since 2008, hosting over 5,400 people. 93% of participants have been women, 70% want to return to full time jobs, and over 50% of have relaunched their careers within a year of the Conference.
