AB InBev Q2 Profit Declines On Weak Revenues - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV or AB InBev (BUD, AHBIF.PK), which is buying rival brewer SABMiller Plc. (SBMRY.PK, SAB.L), reported Friday that its second-quarter normalized profit attributable to equity holders was $1.727 billion, lower than last year's $1.984 billion.
Normalized earnings per share decreased to $1.06 from $1.21 a year ago.
Organic EBITDA growth was more than offset by higher net finance results and unfavorable currency translation.
EBITDA grew by 4.3% in to $4.011 billion and EBITDA margin increased marginally to 37.1%.
Revenues declined to $10.806 billion from $11.052 billion last year. Organically, revenue grew 4% in the quarter, with strong revenue per hl growth of 5.9%.
On a constant geographic basis, revenue per hl grew by 6.1% driven by growth in premium brands.
Total volumes declined by 1.7% organically, with own beer volumes down by 0.8%.
For fiscal 2016, AB InBev, on a standalone basis, expects revenue per hl to grow organically ahead of inflation, on a constant geographic basis, as a result of revenue management initiatives and continued improvements in mix.
