Active Power Q2 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Active Power (ACPW), a manufacturer of flywheel uninterruptible power supply systems and modular infrastructure solutions, reported a second quarter net loss of $0.3 million or $0.01 per share compared to a loss of $4.4 million or $0.19 per share in the year-ago period. The company said the decrease in loss from the year-ago quarter was due to higher revenue, higher gross margin, and lower operating expenses in the second quarter of 2015.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss per share of $0.09 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue was $16.9 million, an increase of 66% compared to $10.2 million in the year-ago period.
