Acxiom(R) Strengthens Its Privacy Leadership With New Appointments in U.S., Europe and Asia; Chief Privacy Officer Jennifer Barrett Named Global Leader

As part of its continuing efforts at protecting dataprivacy and security, Acxiom(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM) has madeseveral significant leadership appointments, with Chief PrivacyOfficer Jennifer Barrett being named Global Privacy Officer.

Other privacy leadership appointments include that of SheilaColclasure, Acxiom business leader for privacy practices andsolutions, who will assume the role of privacy officer for North andSouth America; Barbara Sullivan, Acxiom privacy leader for Australiaand New Zealand, who has been named chief privacy officer for Asia;and Acxiom consultant Sachiko Scheuing, who will be privacy leader forEurope.

Acxiom provides privacy consulting to some of the largest, mostrespected organizations in the world to help them with compliancestrategies and to guide them in establishing best practices in privacyand security.

"Because wedo business in many countries, each with unique laws and regulations,it is critical that we have the most knowledgeable, dedicated team ofglobal privacy leaders in place, and these appointments help to ensurethat."

Barrett will be responsible for oversight of Acxiom's globalpublic policy, privacy and information practices. In this new capacityshe will provide direction for Acxiom's information use policy acrossall global operations, ensure internal compliance with legalregulations and industry guidelines and oversee consumer andgovernment affairs.

Barrett, who has extensive knowledge of U.S. federal and statelaws governing the use of information, is sought by both policy makersand regulators for her views of effective use of personal information.She is a frequent speaker on privacy and customer relationshipmanagement and has published numerous articles and participated inwriting books on these subjects.

Barrett joined Acxiom in 1974, and was one of the first chiefprivacy officers in the U.S., having been named to the position in1991. Since that time she has guided Acxiom's initiatives to safeguardconsumer privacy.

Colclasure, who managed congressional and political affairs forthe American Institute of Certified Public Accountants before joiningAcxiom in 1997, previously managed fair information practices andcoordinated Acxiom's privacy solution offerings.

While working as Acxiom's Australia and New Zealand privacyleader, a role she assumed in 1999, Sullivan established best-practiceprivacy procedures, as well as assisting Acxiom clients through theintroduction of privacy legislation in Australia in 2001. Sullivanjoined Acxiom in 1999 to manage marketing and communications and shecontinues as marketing leader alongside her privacy responsibilities.

Scheuing was appointed Dutch privacy officer in 2004. During thattime she helped develop and implement changes necessary to comply withDutch law. Before the company's acquisition by Acxiom in 2004,Scheuing worked as a customer relationship management (CRM) businessdevelopment manager at Claritas Netherlands.
