Akers Biosciences Names Thomas Knox Non-executive Co-chairman

(RTTNews) - Akers Biosciences, Inc. (AKER, AKR.L), a designer and manufacturer of rapid diagnostic screening and testing products, Friday announced the appointment of Thomas Knox as Non-executive Co-chairman of the Board.

Knox was first appointed as a Non-executive Director of the company on July 1, 2013.

He was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of United Healthcare of Pennsylvania, a division of United Healthcare, Inc., the largest health insurance provider in the world.

Prior to this, Knox was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Insurance Group, Inc., a life and health insurance provider.

Knox is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Knox Consulting Group, an advisory and investment firm.

AKR.L is losing 3.2 percent in early morning trading at 230.00 pence.
