American Capital Ltd Q1 Earnings Climb 48%

(RTTNews) - American Capital Ltd (ACAS) released a profit for its first quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $74 million, or $0.40 per share. This was up from $50 million, or $0.28 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.28 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.2% to $162 million. This was up from $154 million last year.
