AngloGold Ashanti Q4 Production Down 14% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - AngloGold Ashanti (AGD.L, AU) Monday reported a 14 percent down slide in its production for the fourth quarter, and said its net debt reduced by 30 percent after margins increased despite lower gold prices.

In the quarter, production was 14 percent lower from last year at 997,000oz, but 2 percent better than the prior quarter. AISC, or All-in sustaining costs, were up 14 percent at $860/oz, reflecting rigorous cost and capital allocation discipline across the company.

Net debt fell by 30% to $2.19 billion from $3.13 billion at the end of 2014, lowering the amount the company will pay in interest charge, the Group noted.

Looking ahead to the full year 2016, production is estimated to be between 3.6Moz - 3.8Moz, with AISC between $900/oz and $960/oz at average exchange rates. Capital expenditure is expected in the range of $790 million - $850 million.
