Aon Q2 Adj. EPS Beats Consensus - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - UK-based risk and insurance brokerage service provider Aon Plc's (AON) second-quarter net income attributable to shareholders rose to $304 million, or $1.01 per share, from $241 million, or $0.76 per share, in the prior-year quarter.
Adjusting for certain items, quarterly net income per share attributable to Aon shareholders totaled $1.25, versus $1.11 a year ago, including a $0.03 per share unfavorable impact on adjusted net income from continuing operations if the firm were to translate year-ago results at current quarter foreign exchange rates. On average, 23 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings per share of $1.20 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Total revenue for the tri-monthly period went up 1% to $2.92 billion, from $2.9 billion last year, driven mainly by 2% organic revenue growth, partially offset by a 1% unfavorable impact from acquisitions, net of divestitures. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $2.97 billion for the quarter.
