Ariba Simplifies Regulatory Compliance in Europe
With rules that vary by country and multiple documents and systems to pull data from, complying with regulatory requirements across the European Union is not a simple task. But Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARBA), the leading provider of collaborative business commerce solutions, is about to make it a lot easier. The company today announced that it has joined forces with Logica, a leading business and technology service company, to deliver an e-archive service that enables organizations to automatically store and manage key electronic invoices in an automated, secure and reliable manner.
"Doing business in Europe involves a complex set of regulations that require companies of all sizes to maintain hundreds of thousands invoice-related documents. Failure to do so may result in violating rules, failing audits, and incurring substantial fines that can negatively impact business performance,” said James Tucker, Director of Marketing, Invoice and Payment Solutions, Ariba. "The Ariba® e-Archive Service™, powered by Logica, provides a fast, efficient and cost-effective way to digitally store and retrieve electronic invoices, enabling companies to drive complete compliance regardless of where they are transacting business.”
Automatic and Paperless
Delivered as part of the Ariba Invoice Management™ suite of solutions as an optional, cloud-based service, the Ariba e-Archive Service, powered by Logica, is a proven solution for short or long-term digital archiving and on-line retrieval of critical electronic invoices and associated documents such as electronic signatures and digital certificates.
A unique combination of Ariba’s market-leading e-Invoicing technology and Logica’s e-Archiving capabilities, the Ariba e-Archiving service, powered by Logica automatically pulls invoices from Ariba Invoice Management into a private and secure site where companies can actively manage them. Using the service, companies can:
- More easily address compliance requirements for invoice storage across Europe
- Handle large volumes of documents and easily scale capacity to meet growing storage needs
- Set keywords so that documents can be easily found and accessed by authorized users
- Search for documents using multiple criteria, including transacting counterparty name, country, VAT or other tax ID, dates, and invoice number
- Provide document storage at a lower cost than using an in-house facility
- Deploy and begin delivering results in days
"Making sure that content is captured, stored and shared in seamless ways takes a special understanding of how business works,” said Mikael Olbers, Director of Information Logistics, Logica. "By integrating our e-Archiving capabilities into Ariba’s invoice management solution, we can help companies not only manage their compliance requirements, but fuel internal process efficiencies and collaboration across their global supply chains that can enhance their performance.”
