Ashley P. Doucette, M.D., M.P.H., is recognized by Continental Who's Who

NEW ORLEANS, March 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashley P. Doucette, M.D., M.P.H., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the Medical field. 

Dr. Doucette serves as the Doctor of Psychiatry and CEO of Doucette Consultants, LLC. She established her practice in 2011 and brings expertise in the treatment of mood disorders, psychosis, opiate dependency and community psychiatry, to her role.

"I practice both individual and community focused Psychiatry, I have dedicated my career to educating the community and being an advocate to eliminate the stigma of mental illness," Dr. Doucette said.

In addition to her work in her practice, Dr. Doucette is the Medical Director of a number of Mental
Health Rehabilitation facilities, including Positive Living Treatment Center (PLTC) and Total Sentencing Alternative Solutions (TSAP) in New Orleans, La. She also holds Medical Directorship positions with New Orleans East Hospital, Southwest Primary Care Center in Opelousas, La., and A Plus Family Services in New Iberia, La.

Mostly recently, she has been appointed Medical Director of the non-profit organization known as The Color Gallery. The Color Gallery, Inc. works to decrease community violence and school aged related crime by providing a creative means of expression by use of clinical art therapy. Appointed by founder Ursula Rochon, Dr. Doucette has become a pertinent aspect of the continued success of the program and its mission.

Their last sense of hope. Someone may think 'ok, if this doctor can't help me, then I'm just giving up'; so, it's important for me to be attentive, compassionate, and genuine in my concern for helping them."

Dr. Doucette graduated from Tulane University School and Medicine and School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, earning her Medical degree as well as her Master of Public Health degree concurrently within her 4 years of medical school. To further her professional development, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, and the American Psychiatric Association. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, she has been named to Leading Physicians of the World, and Louisiana state representative for the 2018 Honors Edition of the Women of Distinction Award.

Additionally, in July 2017, Dr. Doucette was the Guest Speaker for Positive Living Treatment Center 2017 Dinner. Topic: Mental Health and Impact of Racial Disparities. In July 2016, she was the Guest Speaker for Positive Living Treatment Center 2016 Dinner. Topic: Mental Health treatment access: Impact within criminal justice system. Dr. Doucette has also been featured twice on Dr. Clark's Radio show on WBOK in both 2014 and 2016. She also appeared on his television show for Cox Cable NOA-TV, "Dr. Clark Reports with Dr. Ashley Doucette". Most recently she appeared on Power 102.9 with popular radio personality Downtown Lesli Brown to discuss support of small businesses and women's empowerment.

Dr. Doucette attributes her success to being blessed with a strong family support unit. Her parents have played a prominent role in her success. She is also thankful for the host of family, friends, mentors and co-workers, who have helped her through the obstacles, and allowed her to overcome.

When not working, Dr. Doucette enjoys spending time with her three French bulldogs, listening to music, playing the piano and boxing. She recently became co-owner of Roux Masion, the only black women owned art gallery in the downtown New Orleans area. Dr. Doucette has also started her own Tshirt line known as "The Tangible Ones," that highlights the everyday heroes and providing tangible examples of greatness for the next generation.

She dedicates this recognition to her parents – her mother, who is retired from Delta Air Lines, and he father, who is a former police officer, who taught her the importance of hard work, dedication, and persistence.
