Astec Industries Q1 Income Advances 17%

(RTTNews) - Astec Industries (ASTE) released earnings for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $17.74 million, or $0.77 per share. This was up from $15.10 million, or $0.65 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.71 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.5% to $278.72 million. This was down from $288.75 million last year.
