ASV Offers Vertical Lift with New Posi-Track RCV; Distinctive Design P
Business Editors
GRAND RAPIDS, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2005--Continuing to provide contractors reasons to switch from wheeled skid-steers to its rubber track loaders, ASV, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASVI) gave its dealers a sneak preview of its new Posi-Track RCV(TM), a vertical lift machine with 86 horsepower, high flow hydraulics, hydraulic quick attach and selectable self-leveling.
The RCV becomes the industry's first vertical lift machine designed from the ground up to run on a suspended rubber track undercarriage. As a result, the distinctive design on the RCV gives it the highest lift height in its class, while minimizing obstructions such as loader towers and offering among the best visibility in the industry.
According to ASV President Mark Glasnapp, vertical lift machinery represents a growing segment of the skid-steer and rubber track loader market. A vertical lift machine allows a contractor to lift increased weight while keeping the load closer to the machine with increased reach, which is advantageous for loading and unloading.
"The entire R-Series line of rubber track loaders has created a dynamic shift in the minds of contractors and landscapers - there is now technology that outperforms the traditional skid-steer," said Glasnapp. "Now, the new RCV will give contractors even more reason to opt for ASV machinery instead of wheeled equipment. ASV is certainly meeting the demands of customers."
According to Glasnapp, orders for the RCV have been brisk before and during the introduction to dealers. He expects the RCV will go into production in the second quarter of 2005.
As with all ASV machinery, the RCV achieves much of its power and traction from its track system. Torsion axle suspension of the undercarriage helps maximize contact with the ground for better traction and a much smoother ride than rigid-mounted track systems. This increases load retention, operator comfort and cycle times through a workday.
The RCV also features one of the most advanced hydraulic systems available. Tracks are directly driven by single-speed drive motors, with travel speeds up to 6 mph. The hydraulic system provides up to 38 gpm to the standard high flow auxiliary circuit on demand or 20 gpm to the low flow circuit. The RCV's load-sensing hydraulic system is highly efficient, producing up to 10% more hydraulic horsepower compared to less efficient systems.
With its hydraulic quick attach, the RCV can be fitted with virtually any industry-standard attachment, including the full line of performance-matched ASV Posi-Tool(TM) attachments.
ASV designs, manufactures and sells rubber track loaders and related accessories and attachments. For more information about the RCV or any of the other ASV rubber track loaders, visit ASV's Web site at www.asvi.com.
Note: The statement set forth above regarding ASV's anticipated start of production of the RCV is a forward-looking statement based on current expectations and assumptions, and entails various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those expressed in such forward-looking statements. Certain factors may affect whether this anticipated event occurs including ASV's ability to successfully manufacture the RCV, unanticipated delays, costs or other difficulties in the manufacture of the RCV, market acceptance of the RCV and deterioration of the general market and economic conditions. Any forward-looking statements provided from time-to-time by the Company represent only management's then-best current estimate of future results or trends. Additional information regarding these risk factors and uncertainties is detailed from time to time in the Company's SEC filings, including but not limited to, its report on Form 10-Q for the period ended June 30, 2004.
