AXIS Capital Sees Q2 Earnings Below Consensus

(RTTNews) - AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. (AXS) said Monday that it expects second quarter operating earnings to be $91 million to $97 million, or $0.90 to $0.96 per share.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters currently expect the company to earn $1.17 per share for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net earnings for the second quarter are expected to be $60 million to $66 million, or $0.60 to $0.66 per share.

The company noted that the quarterly results were impacted by catastrophe and weather-related pre-tax net losses of about $39 million, mainly related to weather loss events in the U.S.A. and Australia

AXIS Capital will report final results for the second quarter and six months ending June 30, 2015 after the market close on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
