B&G Foods Names Robert Cantwell Its Next CEO

(RTTNews) - B&G Foods, Inc. (BGS) said Wednesday that it has appointed Robert Cantwell as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2015.

Cantwell, 57, who currently serves as the company's Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, will succeed David Wenner, who, as announced earlier this year, plans to retire at year end.

Wenner is expected to remain on the company's Board of Directors.

The company said it has immediately commenced a search for a new Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.

Cantwell joined B&G Foods in 1983 as the Assistant Vice President of Finance. He was promoted to his current position in 1991. Prior to joining B&G Foods, Cantwell spent four years at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Cantwell has served on the Board of Directors of B&G Foods since 2005.
