Bass Pro/Cabela's Merger Facing Regulatory Scrutiny

(RTTNews) - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has demanded for additional information on the merger deal between fishing and hunting equipment retailer Cabela's Inc. and rival Bass Pro Shops.

Cabela's, in a SEC filing, said that the Federal Trade Commission wants more information about the merger. Cabela's continues to expect to receive FTC clearance and close the Bass Pro deal in the first half of 2017.

Cabela's also said Capital One does not expect to get approval for acquiring the credit card business before October 3, 2017. Capital One Financial had agreed it would buy Cabela's credit card business and signed a 10-year partnership with Bass Pro to issue credit cards to Cabela's customers.
