"Climate change is the most immediate and devastating challenge facing our planet's future. We have to solve this now. It's not that my generation wants to be the most passionate about this issue, it's that we have to be," said organizer Divya Nair, The Tech Student Board president and senior at Notre Dame High School.

The youth summit is organized by 13 students from 11 different Bay Area high schools. Teens will work together to develop policy and tech-based solutions to challenges like deforestation, plastic pollution and clean energy.

"We are thrilled to empower young leaders in their quest to make our world a better place," said    Anna Schlegel, Vice President, NetApp.

Activities also include a United Nations climate negotiations simulation, sustainable foods tasting, escape room, advocacy storytelling workshop and more. A leader with the Popeloutchom peoples will also discuss the threats climate change poses to local indigenous culture.

The summit is part of The Tech's Tech for Global Good program, designed to create the next generation of innovators ready to tackle the toughest challenges facing our planet. The Tech will also preview a portion of its next exhibition about living sustainably.
