Bemis Co. Q4 Profit Up, Despite Lower Sales

(RTTNews) - Bemis Company, Inc. (BMS) announced Thursday an increase in fourth quarter net income to $59.1 million or $0.59 per share from $56.2 million or $0.54 per share last year. Earnings per share from continuing operations increased 16.3 percent to $0.57. On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.56 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Net sales declined to $1.052 billion from $1.085 billion in the prior year. Analysts were looking for $1.05 billion.

Looking ahead to 2015, the company expects adjusted earnings per share in a range of $2.52 - $2.67, while Street estimates is for $2.52 per share.
