BIMscript® and LENA - now ready with IFC 2x3 as a delivery format

BIMobject® - the creator of BIMscript® and LENA - announces today full support for the IFC format in its development solutions. IFC, (Industry Foundation Classes), is a global standard for BIM, developed by buildingSMART®. It plays the significant role of common file format for project delivery between different software solutions in the BIM process for all government requirements in the building industry.

Until now, it has been very cumbersome to develop individual objects with rich property sets, considering that export functions to IFC from the main CAD and BIM software were targeted at exporting a complete building project. This changes today by having IFC built in natively in our server infrastructure on bimobject.com. It now means that BIMscript and LENA can automatically generate objects as IFC files with a rich set of properties, and also be optimised after what should be included in the file. It also means that any update on IFC is made available quickly by just updating the IFC component on the server, making all BIM objects developed in BIMscript future-proof.

BIMscript is an intelligent format that describes products with multiple variations, textures, materials, LODs (level of developments) and product logic. It means that we generate the IFC 2x3 file dynamically from the webGL product preview and configurator. In practical terms, it means that any number of static IFC objects are created dynamically from the intelligent product configurator on bimobject.com.
