Bloomberg Law's Docket Key Speeds Research With Innovative Filing Classification System

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bloomberg Law today announced the introduction of Docket Key, its new proprietary system that identifies and classifies entries on a docket sheet, dramatically accelerating the process of locating and accessing dockets for legal professionals. Docket Key makes locating underlying filings easy, quick, and precise by using machine learning to target 20 categories, including motions, complaints, notices, briefs, and orders.  For more information on Bloomberg Law's expedited access to docket filings, visit https://www.bna.com/litigation-m57982084299/.

Docket Key initially supports the most frequently searched 15 federal district courts on Bloomberg Law, including the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, District of District of Columbia, and the Northern District of California.  Docket Key is applied as a search feature on the Docket Search page and as a filter on dockets in applicable courts.  With Docket Key, users can limit unnecessary steps in the legal research process by navigating directly to the desired document.

"A key area of focus for us at Bloomberg Law is to increase the speed and efficiency with which attorneys can find the information they need to support their clients," said Scott Mozarsky, President, Bloomberg Law. "With Docket Key, we have streamlined the process of researching and locating docket entries, saving valuable time and allowing attorneys to utilize the most relevant documents to support their legal arguments.  Moving forward, we will continue to enhance our docket searching technology in order to deliver even greater value to practitioners."

The rollout of Docket Key builds on the numerous Bloomberg Law product enhancements that were deployed during 2017, all of which were developed based on feedback from customers about their challenges and opportunities.  These enhancements demonstrate a continued commitment to significant investment in the platform.  Among Bloomberg Law's many product releases — which leverage data, analytics, content and improved search  — include a new user interface that increases content discoverability; the Points of Law artificial intelligence tool; and Compliance Risk Benchmarks, which helps privacy and compliance professionals balance business benefits with compliance-related risk across nearly 50 countries worldwide.
