Kyocera Wireless Corp. (KWC), a leading global manufacturer of CDMA
wireless phones and devices, today announced that wireless industry
veteran Brian Richardson has joined the company as divisional vice
president of engineering for its newly created Consumer Products Group
(CPG). Richardson brings to the company more than 20 years of experience
with a wide variety of cellular companies, where he specialized in
engineering and R&D, creating solutions for consumer and enterprise
opportunities worldwide. Richardson joins two additional recent
appointments to KWC’s executive team; Cheri de
Lacy was named divisional vice president of strategic planning, while
Eric Anderson was promoted to vice president of CPG sales.
"Brian brings deep expertise and diverse
experience to KWC and its management team and we welcome him,”
said Rod Lanthorne, president of Kyocera Wireless Corp. "We
are confident that, together with Cheri and Eric, these new leaders
bring fresh perspectives and passion that will help KWC become a strong
player in the dynamic wireless handset industry.”
Richardson is tasked with overseeing KWC’s
program management, software engineering, hardware engineering,
mechanical engineering, project engineering and accessories product
development. Prior to Kyocera, Richardson was senior vice president of
product development at GreatCall Inc.
As the CPG’s newly appointed divisional vice
president of strategic planning, de Lacy expands her responsibilities
within KWC to include product planning, which comprises the group’s
product management, portfolio management, product planning, account
product marketing, industrial design and user experience departments.
She also leads the group’s business
development department, responsible for driving strategic initiatives
with emerging technologies such as Near Field Communications (NFC),
WiMAX and Wi-Fi/cellular convergence, among others.
Anderson, who becomes a corporate officer after joining KWC in 2005 as
senior director of domestic sales, brings 20 years of experience to the
management team from a variety of areas including sales, marketing and
business development. Prior to KWC, Anderson held executive positions in
the wireless industry at Superior Communications and Cellstar
Corporation.
"Brian, Cheri and Eric help position KWC’s
Consumer Products Group to drive the convergence of telecommunication,
broadband and multimedia technologies,” said
Dave Carey, vice president and general manager of CPG. "As
