Bugaboo Looks to Increase Supply Chain Flexibility and Improve Service Levels with JDA Supply Chain Management Solutions

JDA Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS) today announced that Bugaboo International BV has selected the Agile Business Process Platform and solutions for demand, supply planning and order fulfillment developed by i2 Technologies, Inc. to increase product flexibility and configurability, improve customer service levels and lower inventory levels. The Netherlands-based design company for iconic mobility products, with a product range of baby strollers and accessories, made the selection in the fourth quarter of 2009. JDA completed its acquisition of i2 on Jan. 28, 2010.

The demand and supply planning solutions selected by Bugaboo are designed to enable improved forecast accuracy and customer delivery performance while optimizing investments in inventory. The fulfillment solution is a high-performance, order-promising application that helps increase delivery confidence and enhance supply utilization, resulting in improved customer service levels and higher flexibility. The supply chain platform supports closed-loop supply chain management and accelerates communication between planning and execution. The Agile Business Process Platform can help bring greater speed, agility, quality and cost efficiency to any supply chain.

"We selected the solutions developed by i2 to support agility in our business and to increase our service levels to our consumers while maintaining a cost-effective business model. In addition, we expect that the flexibility gained by this platform will provide us with a competitive advantage by offering our consumers greater flexibility in ordering Bugaboo’s products. We selected the solutions based on the company’s large number of customers and proven technology,” said Henk-Jan Groeneveld, supply chain director, Bugaboo.

"In today’s dynamic retail environment, intense competition is driving retailers to increase supply chain visibility and improve customer service levels while lowering inventory,” said Brian Mort, JDA Software regional vice president, EMEA. "Anticipating and incorporating demand into retail merchandising and supply chain management processes will help retailers quickly respond to changes in consumer demand for improved service and profits.”
