Carlos Watson Debuts on Hearst-Argyle's Branded YouTube Channel

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc. today announced the launch of a new YouTube Channel, http://www.youtube.com/CarlosWatson, featuring clips from the highly acclaimed primetime interview program "Conversations with Carlos Watson," appearing exclusively on Hearst-Argyle Television's 29 TV stations around the country.

In June 2007, Hearst-Argyle became the first independent TV station group owner to strike a content-sharing deal with YouTube. The Carlos Watson YouTube Channel marks the 27th launched by Hearst-Argyle. To date, more than 17 million videos have been viewed on YouTube under this partnership.

Included among the currently available YouTube videos -- never before seen by a national audience -- are revealing interviews with Sen. Hillary Clinton, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and a host of other prominent personalities interviewed for the initial two episodes of "Conversations with Carlos Watson."

Special Web-only content from many of the interviews appears exclusively on Hearst-Argyle station Websites, which can be accessed via http://www.hearstargyle.com/.

With today's announcement, "Conversations with Carlos Watson" becomes a multimedia brand, with a television program, a YouTube presence, and original content on the Hearst-Argyle stations' popular local Websites.

Later this month, interviews with Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Barack Obama will be posted to YouTube. As with Sen. Clinton, these leading Presidential candidates discuss their childhood experiences; their political influences, challenges and motivations; their views on the Iraq war and on Iran; and their opinions of their fellow candidates.

The Hillary Clinton interview aired in March. The recently taped Giuliani and Obama interviews appear in the third installment of "Conversations with Carlos Watson," which airs on the Hearst-Argyle stations throughout December - - making for a combination of interviews with Presidential candidates rivaling that of network or syndicated talk programs.

"Conversations with Carlos Watson" debuted in March on the Hearst-Argyle stations, which stretch from Portland, Maine to Honolulu -- including leading stations in Boston, Sacramento, Orlando, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Kansas City (MO) and Milwaukee -- collectively reaching approximately 18% of all U.S. TV households. The March and September episodes each garnered more than 2 million viewers, comparable to the primetime audiences of national cable news networks.

"Conversations with Carlos Watson" includes interviews in non-studio settings with personalities spanning politics, entertainment, sports and human interest. The December episode includes interviews with popular singer Joss Stone, San Diego Chargers All Pro running back LaDainian Tomlinson and model/entrepreneur Heidi Klum. Previous guests have included music impresario Sean "Diddy" Combs, inspirational athlete/speaker Bonnie St. John, NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon, Grammy-winning musician John Legend, model Naomi Campbell and Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez.

Watson, formerly a political analyst and host on CNN and CNBC, as well as a host on BET, brings to the show a diverse background as a legal scholar, education industry and dot-com entrepreneur, sports enthusiast and political operative.
