CGI Group Q3 Profit Rises, But Misses View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - CGI Group Inc. (GIB, GIB_A.TO) Wednesday reported that its third-quarter earnings rose by 26.3 percent year-over-year. Revenues were up by 3.9 percent.

The company's net earnings for the quarter improved by 26.3 percent to C$225.1 million from C$178.2 million last year. Earnings per share climbed 26.8 percent to C$0.71 from C$0.56 a year ago.

Excluding specific items, net earnings totaled C$229.8 million or C$0.72 per share. On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn C$0.73 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Quarterly revenues grew 3.9 percent to C$2.7 billion from C$2.56 in the prior-year quarter, while analysts projected revenue of C$2.70 billion.
