Checkpoint Systems Names Saleem Miyan to Management Team; New Post of
Business Editors
THOROFARE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2005--Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CKP), the leading provider of radio frequency-based product identification and shrink management solutions for retailers and consumer package goods manufacturers worldwide, announced that Saleem Miyan has joined the company as Vice President and General Manager - Global RFID and Emerging Technologies, a new position. Mr. Miyan is based in Checkpoint's London office.
Mr. Miyan will manage Checkpoint's global RFID efforts, overseeing the company's sales, marketing and product development teams in North America and Europe. He reports to Dave Donnan, President, North America.
For the six years before joining Checkpoint, Mr. Miyan worked for Philips Semiconductors in London, where he served in several key positions, most recently heading global strategic alliances and programs. Under his stewardship, Philips' RFID business became a mainstream market activity within two years. Previously, Mr. Miyan worked for Ernst & Young in Chicago, where he served as a managing consultant, overseeing a team of 30 systems and software experts. He started his career as a business systems analyst with British Airways in the UK, eventually rising to corporate systems project manager.
Mr. Miyan received an MSc (with distinction) in project management and psychology from the London City University (UCL), and a BSc (HONS) in software engineering from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
