Community Income Tax Launches First Alliance for Tax Professionals
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Income Tax (CIT) today officially launched the tax industry's first ever alliance for independent tax professionals, designed to reduce operational costs for independents and allow savings to be passed on to their taxpayer clients.

Each year during tax season, many independent tax preparers pay high fees as part of joining a tax franchise or belonging to a service bureau software reseller. Often, some or all of these fees end up coming out of the taxpayer's refund or pocket without the taxpayer having a true understanding of what they are paying for or why.
CIT's mission is to eliminate the confusing "junk fees" and lower the per tax return costs for the tax preparer, providing an opportunity for them to reduce unnecessary costs for the consumer. CIT alliance members pay a low annual membership fee, for which they receive professional tax software and gain access to a professional support team, retail discounts to lower costs on everyday business services, discounts on continuing education, professional marketing materials and competitive pricing on tax refund settlement products.
CIT President and Founder, Rob Kluba, noted that for many independents these services are essential to staying competitive but that the high associated costs often outweigh the benefits. This forces small business owners to make difficult decisions on how to effectively grow their business without compromising their best interests or those of their clients. Kluba has seen first hand how challenging that can be, having spent over 20 years in the tax industry during which he ran his own independent tax office, operated a large service bureau and later a nationwide franchise.
"The industry has become so complicated in recent years but it doesn't have to be. These services that independents need to grow their businesses simply don't need to cost as much as they do for most preparers today," said Kluba. "Our objective with CIT is to drive costs down for tax professionals by presenting fair and transparent cost structures that save business owners and taxpayers money. Ultimately, when consumers and small business owners are able to thrive, communities are able to grow and thrive as well."
By leveraging group buying power and relationships with other industry-leading providers, CIT is able to deliver the ancillary support services at lower costs while still allowing members to maintain their independence. The result is a community atmosphere that is focused on service and support, consumer trust and value, and the growth of each CIT alliance member office.
