    ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 2005--

BSI Purchases EM Media VOD System Based on MediaHawk(R) On-Demand Technology and Increases Concurrent's Korean Market Leadership Position

Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: CCUR), a worldwide leader of on-demand technology that is shaping the future of television, today announced that EM Media of Korea has chosen Concurrent as its Video-On-Demand (VOD) provider to deliver advanced digital television services to Korean broadband system operators, multiple system operators (MSOs), and digital media centers (DMCs) using MediaHawk(R) On-Demand products and technologies.
EM Media is a leading content aggregator serving the HFC cable market in Korea and will incorporate Concurrent's MediaHawk On-Demand Platform, MediaHawk Business Management System, and MediaHawk Video-On-Demand Thin Client as part of an integrated VOD system for the Korean digital television market. In addition to providing the MediaHawk-based VOD System, EM Media acts as the content aggregator for VOD content. Such on-demand content includes network personal video recorder (nPVR) services consisting of high-demand time-shifted Korean broadcast television dramas which are roughly equivalent to the US broadcast soap operas.
Concurrent announced that Broadband Solutions, Inc (BSI) of Korea has chosen the EM Media VOD System, increasing Concurrent's established leadership position in the Korean digital television market. BSI is at the forefront of the digital revolution in Korea, establishing itself as a full-service provider of digital content and delivery for system operators in the market. Operating one of the largest digital media centers (DMCs) in Korea with 1.6 million subscribers, BSI's services include aggregating digital video and managing the end-to-end infrastructure for the delivery of DTV broadcasting from the headend to the home. The Korea market represents a significant on-demand opportunity, with the Korean government initiating the deployment of digital cable television to between six and nine million households over the next several years. BSI began the field trial of on-demand services in calendar year 2004 and commercial deployment is scheduled for mid-2005.
"BSI is launching advanced on-demand services, including Subscription Video-On-Demand, swiftly to our Korean subscribers, and Concurrent's powerful technology, combined with its truly open architecture and integration capacity, incorporated by EM Media, gives us the ability to achieve this goal," said Chong-Ouk Kim, BSI Chief Executive Officer. "We look forward to continuing to build on this partnership with Concurrent, EM Media and the system operators to deliver the highest quality of digital services to this quickly emerging market. Concurrent's MediaHawk Platform provided an unequalled foundation as we prepared for this launch," he added.
"EM Media is excited to join both BSI and Concurrent in this broad delivery of digital on-demand services to the Korean market for the most innovative VOD consumer experience," said Joon Jang, Director of EM Media's VOD Business Division. "Concurrent's open platform simplified the integration with EM Media's content aggregation technology and provided a trusted foundation. Together, BSI, Concurrent and EM Media will usher in a new era of on-demand entertainment and programming in the Korean market over an industry-leading integrated solution that is poised for future growth."
"We are pleased to be working with BSI and EM Media as the digital revolution takes off in Korea, and to be awarded this recognition as having the on-demand platform of choice," said Gary Trimm, Concurrent President and Chief Executive Officer. "BSI's pioneering vision for digital services to their customers, combined with Concurrent's ability to deliver the latest in on-demand technology and commitment to open systems, integrated with EM Media's leading solution, creates a solid foundation to deliver the variety of content that will be enjoyed in the Korean market and moving forward toward an 'Everything-On-Demand' environment."
Concurrent's MediaHawk On-Demand Platform is the only widely deployed platform in the industry to completely separate streaming, storage and content ingest for three-dimensional scalability, and is a proven foundation for the delivery of the latest on-demand services, including Movies-On-Demand (MOD), Subscription VOD (SVOD), Free-On-Demand (FOD), Long-Format Advertising (LFA), Network-based Digital Video Recording (NDVR) and high-definition VOD (HDVOD), as well as exciting new on-demand applications and services. The Concurrent On-Demand Platform includes its proven hardware, extensive software, integration expertise and world-class customer service.
