Constellation Energy Nuclear Group Announces Leadership Appointments

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, LLCSM (CENG) today announced several leadership changes within its nuclear fleet, including Eric Larson as plant general manager at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant located in Lusby, Md., Joe Pacher as plant general manager, Tom Mogren, manager, engineering services and Adriene Smith, director, quality and performance assessment at R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant located in Ontario, N.Y., and Paul Swift, manager, engineering services at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station located in Scriba, N.Y.

Larson replaces Tom Trepanier, who will join the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Atlanta, on loan from CENG as a senior representative. Larson will report to George Gellrich, site vice president at Calvert Cliffs. Larson has nearly 24 years of experience in the nuclear industry and held a senior reactor operator license at Salem and D.C. Cook Nuclear Stations. He earned a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and is a 2006 graduate of The University of Notre Dame’s MBA Executive Program.

Trepanier joined CENG in June 2008 and has nearly 30 years of nuclear industry experience. In his role with INPO, he will work with nuclear power plants across the country monitoring and analyzing performance. Trepanier graduated from Worcester Polytechnic with a B.S. in Physics and holds a MBA from Boston University.

Pacher replaces Larson as the plant general manager and will report to John Carlin, site vice president, R.E. Ginna. Pacher joined CENG in June 1986 and has held a number of key management positions at Ginna and Nine Mile Point. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.A. in Engineering Management from Rochester Technology Institute.

Mogren, the Quality Performance Assessment Director at R.E. Ginna, will continue to report to Carlin in his new assignment as engineering services manager starting in June. Mogren joined CENG in 1989 and has held a number of engineering assignments. He has degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and Mathematics from SUNY College. He held a senior reactor operator license at Nine Mile Point Unit 2.

Swift will report to Sam Belcher, site vice president at Nine Mile Point in his new role. He joined CENG in 1988 and is the current manager, engineering at R.E. Ginna. Swift has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University, and earned his Engineering System Certification in 2004.

Smith will report to Bruce Leonard, manager Fleet Quality and Performance Assessment. Smith joined the company in September 1998 and is the currently the technical assistant to Carlin. Smith completed her Engineering System Certification in 2004.
