Cox Virginia Announces Three New Senior Leadership Appointments
CHESAPEAKE, Va., July 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications recently named Robert (Bob) Latvis as Vice President of Field Operations, Jim Ruel as Vice President of Outside Plant, Maintenance and Construction and Toni Stubbs as Vice President of Engineering and Operations for Cox Virginia.

Robert (Bob) Latvis
Latvis began his career with Cox in Connecticut in 1988; he relocated to Hampton Roads in 2004 as Manager of Dispatch/Test Desk. For the past six years, Latvis served as Director of Field Operations and most recently held the role of Interim Vice President of Field Operations before his appointment to Vice President. In his new role, Latvis is responsible for providing strategic leadership for Field Services and CommCenter Operations for Cox Virginia.
Latvis is consistently recognized for his commitment to excellence and passion for mentoring and developing others; in 2006, he was named Cox Leader of the Year for Hampton Roads. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary's University. Latvis is also an accomplished inspirational speaker.
Jim Ruel
Ruel began his career with Cox as a sales manager in Roanoke in 1994. In 2007, Ruel relocated to Chesapeake to lead the company's technical operations in Hampton Roads and in 2009 assumed responsibility for leading the system's technical operations statewide. In his newly appointed role, Ruel is responsible for 18,000 miles of network serving Cox Virginia's residential and commercial customers. Ruel's team is comprised of more than 215 primarily field-based employees who work to build and maintain a reliable network.
Ruel earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Walden University. He has completed numerous leadership programs including Leadership Gainesville and Dale Carnegie's Human Relations training; he also received certification as an executive coach from Penn State University.
Toni Stubbs
Stubbs first joined Cox as Vice President, Information Technology with Cox's former Middle America system, headquartered in Tyler, Texas. There she was the leading technical executive for the region. In 2006, she joined the Hampton Roads Team; she now leads Cox Virginia's information technology and network teams, delivering technical and process solutions for the business statewide.
Stubbs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Mercy College in Detroit, Michigan and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. She is a member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF).
Latvis, Ruel and Stubbs share responsibility for the more than 1.5 million Cox video, Internet, phone and home security subscriptions statewide and are based out of the Hampton Roads office in Chesapeake.
