    WOODBURY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2005--Delta Funding Corporation's National Vice President of Community Affairs, Russell Carter and Delta Vice President William Horan will join New York State Senator Malcolm A. Smith, U.S. Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, Assemblyman William Scarborough, New York City Councilman Leroy Comrie and more than 250 Queens' senior citizens at a breakfast forum to discuss consumer awareness and safety tips, and hear details about Delta's Operation Education community initiatives.
    The Listening and Learning Breakfast Forum was organized by Delta Funding Corp. and State Senator Smith to help educate seniors about consumer frauds including unscrupulous door-to-door sales people, and the danger of carbon monoxide.
    In a spirited mock door-to door sales presentation Delta Vice Presidents Carter and Horan give the audience red flags to wave when they detect unscrupulous behavior by the sales person.
    After remarks from elected officials, Delta will distribute hundreds of free carbon monoxide detectors to all seniors at the breakfast.
    Carbon monoxide, called the silent killer, has affected home owners and apartment dwellers throughout New York City and is responsible for hundreds of deaths nationally each year.
