artec technologies AG: Interest in high-performance face recognition exceeds expectations

+ High-performance analysis in the live stream and offline + People identification using physical characteristics (e.g. tattoos) possible as well + Broad range of applications for government agencies and enterprises + Presentation incl. further developments at the Security fair in Essen in late September

Diepholz/Bremen - 8 September 2016: artec technologies AG (WKN 520958) has added biometric image processing software for face recognition to its range of tried-and-tested MULTIEYE(R) product and system solutions for video security and surveillance applications. artec's MULTIEYE-Face solution is designed for security, criminological and forensic applications of the highest standard. It may optionally be used in the live stream or for the retrospective analysis of video archives. This makes for a wide range of potential uses: public spaces, airports, large facilities, soccer stadiums or undercover investigations. The system has been available for only a few weeks and the interest exceeds the expectations: A large number of domestic and international government agencies and organisations responsible for public safety as well as private companies show strong interest. Thanks to its long-standing activities in the field of video security, artec has an established customer base in the public safety sector as well as the corporate sector from the DACH (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) region. With several projects already having been detailed with prospective customers over the past weeks, artec expects a good order intake in the remaining course of the year.

Says artec CEO Thomas Hoffmann: "Face recognition is critical for enhanced security as well as for tracing and the early recognition of potentially dangerous situations. Apart from the reliability and speed, the processing of diverse sources is of great importance. Our high-performance solution makes us one of the top suppliers in the market. Due to the recognized compatibility of MULTIEYE, MULTIEYE-Face can immediately be used also in existing systems using all different types of camera technology."

Face recognition: Powerful and multifunctional artec's offline face recognition can analyse individual videos or complete video archives with up to 120 images per second. The live version makes it possible to integrate diverse sources such as traditional video surveillance from analogue to 4k resolution, TV and bodycams. The analysis may be performed in the live stream or offline. In the live mode, faces are recognised within two seconds and checked against a database containing more than 50,000 faces. Up to 120 images per second are scanned in the offline analysis. Thanks to its modular structure, the artec system offers easy expandability and scalability. This also applies to the search function, which allows additional information about persons or characteristic physical features such as tattoos to be checked and saved. In combination with MULTIEYE recorders, the solution can be used for access control; in ATMs, the system may be complemented by a function for screening against access cards, fingerprints or passwords. Going forward, artec intends to offer additional features such as complete action planning as well as a cloud solution. Potential new uses are also on the card for the XENTAURIX product platform for media and broadcast applications, as the face recognition solution allows, for instance, to detect and analyse the presence of certain persons via the TV channels.

From 27 to 30 September 2016, artec will also present the face recognition solution at the Security fair in Essen, the world's leading fair for security and fire prevention, together with the new MULTIEYE Version 3.0.
