CompuGroup Medical SE acquires Vega Informatica e Farmacia S.r.l. and strengthens its market leading position in the Italian market for pharmacy software

Koblenz, September 06, 2016: CompuGroup Medical SE (CGM), a leading eHealth company worldwide, concluded a transaction to acquire a share majority in Vega Informatica e Farmacia S.r.l. (VEGA), a leading distributor of CGM's pharmacy software in Italy. With this acquisition, CompuGroup Medical has strengthened its position in the Italian market for pharmacy information systems to service now directly more than 75% of pharmacies and pharmacy- related service providers that use CGM's pharmacy software.

CompuGroup Medical acquired 75% of the shares of Vega Informatica e Farmacia S.r.l. based in Pavia with branches in Parma, Mantua, Genoa, Massa, Bergamo, Vicenza and Padua. The former shareholders will remain on board as a strategic partner. The purchase price, which shall remain confidential as stipulated in the agreement between the two contractual parties, was paid in cash and financed through cash at hand and existing credit lines.

VEGA distributes software solutions for pharmacies in Italy and is with its 1,400 customers the largest external distributor of CGM's pharmacy software in Italy. Additionally, it sells hardware as well as a wide range of additional modules and services related to information technology for pharmacies. Total revenue of VEGA was in 2015 approx. 5.5 Million EUR.
