SolarWorld AG surpasses 1 GW shipment goal Group welcomes expiry review of European anti-dumping measures
SolarWorld AG has already reached its shipment goal for 2015 and has sold more than 1 gigawatt of modules and kits for the first time. This amount of modules is enough to supply one million people in Germany with clean solar electricity for 30 years. Business grew the strongest in the United States and Europe - two regions where SolarWorld could benefit from its clear quality positioning to gain momentum. Due to this dynamic growth in shipments, SolarWorld expects to also exceed its forecast shipment and revenue increase of at least 25 percent in 2015.
"Our customers value SolarWorld's clear commitment towards quality, high power and sustainability," said CEO Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck. "We have continuously invested in our production facilities in the U.S. and Germany to further improve product performance and durability."
Expiry review of European anti-dumping measures The company also welcomes the extension of existing European anti-dumping and anti-subsidiary duties on Chinese solar imports until 2017. The European Commission announced on Saturday the initiation of an expiry review process for the current anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures, which have been in force for the last two years, as well as for the associated minimum import price system. At the beginning of 2017, it will then be decided whether the measures should be extended further.
Frank Asbeck: "Dumping must be stopped, otherwise product diversity, technological development and competition will always suffer. It is therefore important that the European Union, like the United States before, also continued to apply anti-dumping measures."
SolarWorld REAL VALUE: SolarWorld manufactures and sells high-tech solar power solutions and in doing so contributes to a cleaner energy supply worldwide. The group, headquartered in Bonn, Germany, employs approximately 3,700 people and carries out production in Freiberg, Germany; Arnstadt, Germany; and Hillsboro, USA. From raw material silicon to solar wafers, cells and modules, SolarWorld manages all stages of production ? including its own research and development. Through an international distribution network with locations in Europe, USA, Singapore, Japan and South Africa, SolarWorld supplies customers all over the world. The company maintains high social standards at all locations across the globe, and has committed itself to resource- and energy-efficient production. SolarWorld was founded in 1998 and has been publically traded on the stock market since 1999. More information at www.solarworld.com
