DICOM Group Plc: Austrian Subsidiary TOPCALL Produces Significant ROI; MFPConnect Enables More Efficient Communications, Cuts Costs
MFPConnect integrates with the TOPCALL Communication platform andenables multifunctional peripherals (MFPs) to send and receivebusiness-related documents, and maintain a complete audit trail of allorganisational communications. MFPs -- products that combine printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines -- streamline the distribution ofdocuments throughout an organisation and its remote locations.Typically, MFPs are not included in an organisation's communicationsinfrastructure and, therefore, the information that passes throughthem is not highly leveraged or secured.
Since regulatory requirements such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act andBasel II govern the management of information and require strictmonitoring, recording and traceability of all inbound and outbounddocuments, the need to reduce MFPs as a potential security risk iscritical.
For proper compliance, MFPConnect, along with the TOPCALLCommunication platform, guarantees the central archiving, monitoringand recording of all document transmission from an organisation'sMFPs. The TOPCALL Communication platform enables organisations toexchange business critical information by managing inbound andoutbound communications between people, applications and devices.Furthermore, this solution supports IP telephony (VoIP) environmentsand enables organisations to integrate their MFPs with enterprisecontent management (ECM) applications.
MFPConnect substantially reduces operating costs by eliminatingthe need for dedicated fax cards and analog telephone lines for faxmachines. In addition, training costs and installation expenses arelow for MFPConnect. ROI studies conducted by TOPCALL have found thatorganisations can realise operational savings of more than 40 percentby using MFPConnect and, in heavy fax environments, the savings canreach 50 percent.
"Along with our TOPCALL Communication platform, MFPConnect is anideal solution for integrating MFPs into an organisation'scommunications and enterprise content management infrastructure, meeting compliance requirements, and cutting operational costs," saidArnold von Buren, Chief Executive Officer, DICOM Group. "Faster, easier access to information from MFPs greatly enhances productivityand moves organisations closer to the automation of businessprocesses."
While their applications of MFPConnect differ, the followingcompanies are implementing TOPCALL technology:
-- Based in Austria, RHI Group is comprised of two primary business units: RHI Refractories produces high-grade ceramic products; and Heraklith a leading European supplier of insulation materials and ceiling solutions.
-- Wien Energie Gasnetz GmbH, a leading natural gas distribution system operator in Austria.
-- L'TUR Tourismus AG, the European market leader for last minute travel.
