Dolby Laboratories to Lead Seminars, Panels, and Presentations at the 121st Audio Engineering Society Convention in San Francisco

Dolby Laboratories (NYSE:DLB): WHAT: Dolby Laboratories invites all visitors to the 121st Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention, October 5-8, 2006, to seminars, panels, and presentations the company will be hosting in the San Francisco area. In an effort to educate and train the audio engineering community, Dolby will provide a learning environment for visitors to talk with Dolby staff about their audio requirements for entertainment media.   WHO: Dolby is committed to bringing products and services to market that enable audio professionals to create and deliver high-quality audio. As such, Dolby provides tools that continue to raise the bar in performance for many segments of the industry, including broadcast, packaged media, and live sound. During the AES convention, Dolby executives will be available to discuss some of the latest innovations in the industry today.   WHEN: The following schedule includes Dolby seminars, panels, and presentations at the trade show:   --  Daily In-Booth Theatre Presentations Dolby is offering daily informative presentations in its booth (602) that cover the following topics: --  Dolby Media Producer: Presented by Steve Venezia or Gary Epstein, the demonstration of Dolby(R) Media Producer will provide an overview of the three separate software programs that make up the suite: Dolby Media Encoder, Dolby Media Decoder, and Dolby Media Tools. The presentation will focus on new postproduction-facility work flow models utilizing a file-based environment for mastering and encoding audio files for DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, HD DVD, and Blu-ray Disc media. --  Dolby Lake Processor: Dolby will present a daily seminar on the Dolby Lake(R) Processor's front-panel interface that will provide an overview of the digital signal processing system for advanced loudspeaker management and its exclusive, patent-pending front-panel Portal interface. A second daily seminar will focus on the Dolby Lake Processor LimiterMaxTM protection system that introduces a new approach to limiting sound. --  Introduction to the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer: Jeffrey Riedmiller will introduce for the first time at AES the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer, which is the world's first intelligent file-based audio loudness analysis and correction system. --  Introduction to Dolby TrueHD: Roger Dressler will examine how lossless audio coding fits within the context of the overall consumer playback chain and how the realities of decoding products open opportunities for the Dolby TrueHD tool kit to bring added value to content makers and consumers alike. --  Metadata Made Simple: Jim Hilson will present daily presentations on the Dolby Digital and Dolby E metadata authoring process.   --  AES Seminars --  Friday, October 6, 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.: Ioan Allen will lead the AES historical event "70 Years of Stereo Optical Film Soundtracks" at the AMC Leows Metreon 15 theatre, 101 Fourth Street (a short walk from the convention center).
