EDF Energies Nouvelles: 2007 revenues: EUR 560.5 million
Regulatory News: EDF Energies Nouvelles (Paris:EEN) has reported consolidated revenues
of €560.5 million for the 2007 financial
year, representing an increase of 67.4% compared with 2006. At constant
exchange rates, revenues rose by 77% to €592.5
million. The Generation segment posted revenue growth of 26.4% owing to
dynamic wind energy production (up 58.6%); The revenues recorded by the Development and Sale of Structured
Assets (DSSA) segment doubled thanks to the Pomeroy and Goodnoe
projects.
Commenting on this report, Pâris Mouratoglou,
Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated: "During
2007, EDF Energies Nouvelles enjoyed a very steep rise in its Generation
revenues, a crucial factor for growth in its earnings, on the back of
the very strong dynamics of our wind energy operations. The Development
and Sale of Structured Assets (DSSA) segment, which has a major impact
on our revenues, also achieved strong growth thanks to a record fourth
quarter in the United States.”

In Europe, revenues recorded an increase of 14.2% in spite of a
small decline in DSSA revenues. This increase was the product of strong
growth in Generation (up 24.4%) on the back of a very sharp rise in wind
energy generation (up 75.4%), which helped to offset lower hydro
generation and unfavourable changes in the scope of consolidation.
Strong revenue growth in the Americas (up 118.1%) was primarily
driven by the performance of the Development and Sale of Structured
Assets segment, but also by the full-year impact of wind farms that
started up during 2006 and the commissioning of the Fenton facility in
November 2007. At constant exchange rates, revenues in the Americas rose
by 136.7% to €405.8 million.

The Generation segment, which represents the Group’s
core business and key profitability driver, recorded fourth-quarter
revenues of €45 million to reach €174.6 million
over the full year, representing an increase of 26.4% on the previous
year. This steep rise was primarily attributable to the dynamism of
the wind energy operations (up 58.6%), which saw installed capacity
increase by 405.1 MW (264.6 MW net). The Group crossed above the 1,000
MW in net installed capacity during the fourth quarter (gross
installed capacity of 1,443 MW at 31 December 2007).
This revenue growth was also driven by the full-year impact of the wind
energy facilities commissioned during 2006.
These positive factors largely helped to offset the tough wind
conditions experienced in Europe late on in the year, the weak hydro
conditions seen in Bulgaria throughout the year and unfavourable changes
in the scope of consolidation.

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) segment posted revenues
of €3.5 million during the fourth quarter,
bringing the full-year total to €11 million,
up 2.4% compared with the previous year.
During the year, four O&M contracts were signed in the United States
covering a total of 868 MW in total capacity. The largest was a
five-year deal signed with MidAmerican Energy covering 339 turbines with
a capacity of 508.5 MW.
The Development and Sale of Structured Assets (DSSA) segment posted
record revenues of €374.9 million in 2007,
up 101.7% on the back of two major projects in the United States,
Pomeroy (198 MW) and Goodnoe (94 MW). As anticipated, the segment
enjoyed very strong acceleration in its revenues during the fourth
quarter (€228.6 million), primarily owing
to the delivery of almost the entire Pomeroy facility.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has reiterated its full-year 2007 EBITDA target
of between €125 million and €135
million.
