Expeditors International of Washington Inc. Q1 Income Drops 3%

(RTTNews) - Expeditors International of Washington Inc. (EXPD) announced a profit for first quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $93.26 million, or $0.51 per share. This was down from $96.58 million, or $0.53 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.56 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 8.5% to $1.54 billion. This was up from $1.42 billion last year.
