Fairchild Semiconductor Reports Profit For Q2 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Semiconductor supplier Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (FCS) Thursday reported a profit for the second quarter, compared with loss a year ago, helped by higher revenues.

For the three months to June, the company reported net earnings of $17.8 million or $0.14 per share, compared with a net loss of $7.5 million or $0.06 per share a year earlier.

Excluding certain items, earnings totaled $25.2 million or $0.20 per share, compared with earnings of $1.7 million or $0.01 per share a year ago.

On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated the company's earnings to be $0.11 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Quarterly revenues grew to $371.6 million from $344.1 million in the corresponding period last year. Analysts expected revenues of $365.55 million.

For the third quarter, the company expects sales of $370 million to $385 million, while Wall Street expects $378.32 million.
