Florida Faith Leaders Join DC Day of Prayer and Action at Key Moment in Immigration Reform Discussions

WASHINGTON, July 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today on Capitol Hill, Florida faith leaders will join a unified evangelical voice proclaiming a biblical vision for immigration reform that respects the rule of law, reunites families and upholds human dignity.  The moment to fix our broken immigration system and restore hope to millions by passing immigration reform has arrived.

Evangelical leaders from throughout Florida and across the country will participate in a day of action as House leaders move forward and support compassionate and just immigration reform. At this critical moment in legislative negotiations, members of the Evangelical Immigration Table urge all stakeholders involved to work toward a compromise.

The evangelical community, throughout the nation, remains a united, powerful force acting to support just and practical immigration reform that includes the opportunity for earned citizenship. We are engaging our congregations in Florida to provide strength and support to our political leaders so they can find the courage to do the right thing on immigration.

Today, hundreds of evangelicals are here to lift their voices and show the broad support for reform from the evangelical community.  Thanks to efforts of member organizations throughout the state of Florida, including grassroots organizing, a growing number of evangelicals around the state have become Prayer Partners in the Pray For Reform campaign, and since the spring, we have had dozens of local prayer events and conversations.
