The Miami Herald reported on July 9, 2013 that Florida still has the highest foreclosure rate in the U.S. http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/07/09/3492227/florida-still-foreclosure-capital.html. The article states that "More foreclosures are on the horizon for Florida, even as the one-time epicenter of the housing crisis has been posting consistent gains in home prices and seeing housing sales volumes go up." "Florida homeowners should not be lulled into thinking that if they were under water on their mortgages that the recent flurry of activity will make them whole again" stated Luis Torrens, Managing Partner at Litvin, Torrens and Associates.
In addition to Florida having the highest foreclosure rate in the nation, troubled Florida homeowners were dealt another blow on Friday June 7, 2013 when the governor of Florida, Rick Scott signed a bill that expedites the default process http://www.housingwire.com/news/2013/06/09/monday-morning-cup-coffee-mixed-reactions-florida-foreclosure-bill. "At a time when Florida homeowners need and expect at least the moral support of our state government, legislation is signed favoring the financial institutions and making it quicker and easier for lenders to foreclose. This is ridiculous but indicative of why a strong foreclosure defense is so important," Torrens stated in response to the legislation. The Florida based law firm of Litvin, Torrens and Associates, PLLC has a tradition of providing a superior level of client service at an affordable price. The firm works with homeowners throughout the state of Florida providing foreclosure defense services.
It is nearly impossible for an average person who has fallen behind on mortgage payments to negotiate on an even playing field with financial institutions. The banks spend millions on staffing their legal departments with both high powered senior attorneys and legal support employees. Without specific knowledge of Florida foreclosure law, a successful outcome in a foreclosure law suit is doubtful. Financially troubled homeowners are strongly encouraged to equip themselves by hiring a Florida foreclosure law firm to fight the banks and defend their homes.
