Former Twitter Exec Goes Hollywood: Dick Costolo Will Help Write For HBO Show

(RTTNews) - Dick Costolo, who stepped down as CEO of Twitter in June, is taking a bit of a career turn - to Hollywood.

The one-time tech darling left Twitter after 5 years at the helm amid Wall Street concerns about the future of the social media giant. Now he will be consulting on story lines for the HBO series Silicon Valley.

Mike Judge, creator of Silicon Valley, as well as shows like Beavis and Butt-head and King of the Hill, revealed that Costolo was joining the writers' room during an interview on Bloomberg TV.

It doesn't seem like it will be a full time job, however. Judge described the position as more of a consultant, helping the show's production staff decide whether story lines are plausible or not.
