(RTTNews) - Foster Wheeler AG (FWLT) announced that Italian oil and gas company Eni SpA (E) has renewed for a further two years its existing framework agreement with a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering and Construction Group.

As per this agreement, Foster Wheeler provides basic design and front-end engineering design for downstream, upstream, power and petrochemical projects world-wide undertaken by five ENI business units: ENI Refining & Marketing, ENI Exploration & Production, Enipower, Versalis and Syndial. Foster Wheeler has worked with ENI companies under a range of frame agreements for more than fifteen years.

In a separate press release, Foster Wheeler announced that a subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by Marubeni Corporation for the design and supply of two pulverized coal arch fired steam generators to be installed at the Thai Binh Thermal Power Station for Vietnam Electricity or EVN. The project is located in Thai Binh Province in Vietnam.

Foster Wheeler said it has received a full notice to proceed on this contract. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the contract value will be included in the company's bookings for the first-quarter of 2014. Commercial operation of unit 1 is scheduled for October 2017 and unit 2 is scheduled for April 2018.

Foster Wheeler stated that it will design and supply two 300 MWe (gross megawatt electric) steam generators and auxiliary equipment for the boiler islands. The boilers will be designed to burn local Vietnamese anthracite coal while meeting applicable environmental requirements.
