What Honda has done is combined two fuel saving technologies and placed them for the first time ever in the 2013 Honda Accord. The first of the two technologies is the ECON button. This button allows drivers to press it down at any time during the drive to optimize fuel consumption. Once the button is pushed, the engine's fuel-consuming system then reconfigures to get the most miles out of every gallon of gas. Push the button back out, and the 2013 Accord automatically goes back to its normal settings providing more power and acceleration.
The second part to the Eco Assist™ is the intuitive coaching bars surrounding the car's speedometer. These bars change color from white to green indicating how your current driving is effecting gas consumption. The more often the driver can keep the bar green, means the better fuel economy he/she will experience.
