GE Brings Together Hispanic Luminaries for "Leadership in a Reset World” Conference

GE today announced, "Leadership in a Reset World,” GE’s first Hispanic Executive Leadership conference. The event was held in Washington, D.C. May 3-4, 2010, and brought together leaders from national Hispanic organizations to exchange ideas and discuss business challenges in unprecedented economic times.

The Hispanic Executive Leadership panel discussions focused on strategies for leading through the current economic climate, the evolving role of government, responding to changing demographics, as well as health care disparity and its impact on business and the world community.

GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt joined distinguished speakers and panelists such as:

  • Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico
  • Claudio X. Gonzalez, chairman of the board, Kimberly-Clark de Mexico
  • Cecilia Munoz, director intergovernmental affairs, The White House
  • Rosario Dawson, actress and activist
  • Iñaki Urdangarín, chairman, Telefónica Internacional USA Inc.
  • Milka Duno, female sports car racer and education advocate

"In the shifting global economy, fostering leadership and interconnected communities is critical to a better, sustainable future,” said Margaret Lazo, senior vice president, human resources, Network and Cable Entertainment at NBC Universal and co-leader of the Hispanic Forum.

"This event brought together some of the most respected thought leaders in the Hispanic community to spark a collaborative dialogue on leadership and business in the face of today’s challenges,” added Delia Garced, chief marketing officer, Product Commercialization, GE Energy.

The GE Hispanic Forum attracts, develops and promotes Hispanic talent within GE while working to make a positive difference in the Hispanic community at large, with emphasis on the issues of health and education.
