Genesee & Wyoming Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWR) reported that its second-quarter net income to shareholders increased to $64.77 million or $1.14 per share, from $36.36 million or $0.84 per share, last year. Excluding certain items, adjusted net income in the second quarter of 2013 was $65.1 million or $1.14 per share.

On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $1.11 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues rose to $400.74 million, from $217.42 million a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $404.39 million for the quarter.
