Genesee & Wyoming Sept. Traffic Up 5.1% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Genesee & Wyoming Inc. or G&W (GWR) reported traffic volumes for September 2014 and the third quarter of 2014.

During September 2014, G&W's traffic was 163,530 carloads, up 5.1%, compared with September 2013. G&W's same-railroad traffic in September 2014 was 158,429 carloads, an increase of 2,779 carloads, or 1.8% year-over-year.

For the third quarter of 2014, G&W's traffic was 519,900 carloads, a 7.7% increase, compared with last year. G&W's same-railroad traffic in the third quarter of 2014 was 504,256 carloads, an increase of 21,433 carloads, or 4.4%, compared with the third quarter of 2013.
