Germany's Sparkasse Leipzig Banks on Diebold's Opteva(R) and Agilis(R) Solutions

WINDSOR, United Kingdom, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sparkasse Leipzig, one of the largest banks in Germany, has signed an agreement with Diebold, Incorporated to upgrade the bank's existing automated teller machine (ATM) software and to purchase and install 42 Diebold Opteva(R) cash dispensers. Diebold also recently signed an agreement with Sparkasse Dresden, another German bank, for the purchase of 200 Opteva ATMs.

Working with Sparkasse Leipzig's information technology (IT) outsourcing partner, Siemens Business Services, Diebold will upgrade 143 ATMs with Agilis(R) software, Diebold's open, cross-vendor platform that enables the management of terminals from multiple vendors. Diebold also will install 42 new Opteva ATMs and reconfigure 209 Diebold statement printers to make them compatible with the bank's new central self-service architecture.

The Diebold technology, installed across the bank's network of 104 branches, provides the bank's customers with a secure and reliable ATM experience.
