Google Gives $50 Store Credit For Delayed Pixel Phones

(RTTNews) - Google is giving out $50 in Play Store credit to Pixel buyers, who are yet to get the phone due to shipping delays.

The company is having trouble meeting demand for the Pixel phone. The company has sold out the new smartphone's many versions at the Google Store since launch. However, customers who have ordered shortly after the launch are still waiting past their expected shipping date to get the phone.

The company promises the credit once the phone arrives.

Reddit users reportedly got an email, which said, "It's going to take a little longer for you to receive your package than we expected....We're going to send you a $50 Google Play credit via email soon after your package is delivered."

It was on October 4 that Google unveiled its two newest flagship phones the Pixel and the Pixel XL at an event in San Francisco, California. Pre-orders for the Pixel phones started with prices starting at $649 for the Pixel and $769 for the Pixel XL.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are Google's first phones with full control of the development process, even though the devices are being manufactured by HTC. The devices will come with 'phone by Google' branding. The previous Google flagship phones were under the Nexus brands.

Google Pixel features a 5-inch full HD display while Pixel XL has a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen. The smartphones will be available in black and silver colors. Both the devices are built using aerospace-grade aluminum unibody.
