Herbalife Appoints New Vice President of Human Resources and Further Implements Global HR Strategy

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) announced the appointment ofRobert Engelbrecht as vice president of human resources for thecompany's EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. Furtherimplementing its global HR strategy, the company also appointedTakayuki Ikeda as director of human resources supporting the NorthAsia region.

"These new appointments reflect Herbalife's ongoing commitment toour people and their development as we implement best practices aroundthe world to benefit our employees," said Patrick Dailey, Ph.D.,senior vice president, human resources.

Engelbrecht will be responsible for the EMEA region's 880employees based in 17 locations throughout that region, including thecompany's EMEA headquarters in Uxbridge, West London.

He brings with him more than 20 years' experience in peopledevelopment and organizational and cultural change in a number ofindustry sectors including manufacturing and fast moving consumergoods.

Prior to joining Herbalife, Engelbrecht spent seven years withSara Lee International, latterly as vice president of human resourcesfor the direct selling division where he implemented and wasresponsible for instituting best practices and improved capabilityprograms across EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific. During his lastyear he led the departmental efforts for the company's ultimatedivestment to Tupperware and the successful transfer of all 6,500employees.

Previously Engelbrecht was vice president of human resources forcoffee specialists Douwe Egberts, DE Coffee Systems and JacqmotteCoffee House in Belgium, a group of businesses with a combinedturnover of approximately EUR 200m.

His earlier career was spent developing extensive experience inall aspects of HR with companies that included Kraft Foods andColruyt.

Engelbrecht holds a master's degree in sociology and apostgraduate degree in press and communication science, both from theUniversity of Ghent, Belgium. He is member of the HR Directors Cluband the Society for Human Resource Management.

Ikeda, who will oversee human resources for Japan and Korea, isbased in the company's Tokyo office. He has two decades of experiencein human resources, with expertise in melding corporate cultures,personnel matters, and instituting best practice policies.

He served most recently as general manager of human resources forWarner Music Japan Inc., where he led efforts on the company'srevitalization project, as well as the implementation of employeetraining programs. Previously, he served as director, human resources,at Opnext Japan, Inc., which manufactures and sells fiber opticdevices for the telecommunications industry. Ikeda also held humanresource positions at Lucent Technologies Japan, Ltd; served as HRdirector of Hilti Japan Ltd, PepsiCo Food Service Japan, Inc., and atWilson Japan, Inc., a sporting goods company. He holds a B.A. inEconomics from Meiji University, Tokyo.

The company also has dedicated human resources personnel in eachof its regions.
